Ruby is a very small working cocker spaniel who came to me as a rescue, having spent her life to that point confined to a small space and not getting the exercise or attention she needed. She settled in immediately to the pack and took to training at lightning speed, she just wanted to work and please. Ruby loves her cuddles and is usually found in front of the fire as close as possible or curled up on the sofa. She is a typical crazy working cocker, does everything at full speed and is full of 'go'.
Ruby has now been competing in Flyball for a couple of years and has done amazingly. She ran in one starters competition and then moved straight into open where she has already gained her BFA Flyball Dog Silver Award which is 10,000 points and gained her UKFL Cadet Advanced Award of 1000 points. She runs as our second team height dog and has a current PB of 4.43 seconds and she definitely has more to give yet. She absolutely loves the sport and I think she would say she was born to do it! Ruby has also gained several UKFL and BFA Championship titles.
During lockdown we gave Ruby a new challenge and started to work on her tricks. She has already gained the Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert trick titles and is well on the way to becoming a champion. She has also been awarded the trick dog register of merit (TD-ROM) for producing outstanding offspring in the sport of tricks.
Ruby has now had three stunning litters of sports bred mix puppies which include a French Flyball record holder, 3.7 second Flyball height dogs and some seriously impressive medium agility dogs! She has now had her final litter which is a full working cocker litter and we are excited to see how they develop.
