Ruby is a very small working cocker spaniel who came to me as a rescue, having spent her life to that point confined to a small space and not getting the exercise or attention she needed. She settled in immediately to the pack and took to training at lightning speed, she just wanted to work and please. Ruby loves her cuddles and is usually found in front of the fire as close as possible or curled up on the sofa. She is a typical crazy working cocker, does everything at full speed and is full of 'go'.
Ruby has now been competing in Flyball for half a year and has done amazingly. She ran in one starters competition and then moved straight into open where she has already gained her Flyball Dog Advanced Award (5,000 points). She runs as our second team height dog where she measures at 8" and her current PB is 4.58 seconds. She absolutely loves the sport and I think she would say she was born to do it!
She has now also started her agility training and is progressing very well. She's a speedy girl so we will be spending the next few months working on our distance handling with the aim of competing by the end of the year.
Ruby has now had two stunning litters of puppies which include a French Flyball record holder, 4 second Flyball height dogs and some seriously impressive medium agility dogs!
