Summer is in a word, a nutter! She never stops and has to do everything at 100mph. Although a complete fruit loop she is a very loving dog and loves to be around people. She is also very biddable and absolutely loves to work and learn. Her favourite hobby is chasing flies and spends most of the day on her back legs trying to catch them.
Summer is now getting on in her years however at 12 years old she is still able to run 4 second times in Flyball. In her slightly younger years she was able to run 3.6 seconds putting her at top in the UK. In 2015 she became a Crufts Flyball Champion running with Demon Dogs, she ran amazingly throughout the competition and even clocked 3.7 seconds on the green carpet. She has competed at Crufts on many occasions with her last visit in 2017 where she came home with a 2nd and 5th place. Her latest BFA award is her Chica Chicana which is 40,000 points and she has also gained her UKFL Cadet Advanced award of 1000 points.
Summer made a late start to her agility career, she thoroughly enjoys her agility, sometimes too much and like everything in her life she wants to do it as fast as possible. Now a little older she is starting to calm down in the ring and as such is now doing very well indeed. She has won her way into Grade 3 at KC and after several close runs will soon be moving up again. She has moved into Novice Performance and Champion Steeplechase at UKA and has also competed at the UK Agility Grand Finals twice.
Summer just loves to learn and at 10 years old has taken up a new challenge of becoming a trick dog champion. She already knew enough skills and tricks to complete her Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert Trick Titles and after a little scent training has now become a Trick Dog Champion. She has also been awarded the trick dog register of merit title (TD-ROM) for producing outstanding offspring in trick sports.
Summer has had two litters of pretty amazing puppies. Our very own Costa who is already a sub 4 second Flyball dog and well on his way to making his mark on agility too. The only girl from her first litter is rocking the agility world, making Grade 7 before her 3rd birthday and reaching her first Championship Final before she is 4 years old and now selected for team GB. Her second litter of all chocolate pups are incredible with our own Autumn becoming the fastest Border Collie in the world for flyball at just 20 months old.
