Despite his looks Minion is in fact a Lurcher as his Mum is part Whippet! He is a very loving dog and gives the best cuddles in the world...he wraps his long legs around you and buries his head into your neck! He has now turned six years old however he is a true puppy at heart, he loves to play and still has puppy zoomies. He clearly has traits from both his parents... he has the collie stalk, chase from both, speed of a whippet, love to work of a collie but the baby nature of a whippet.
Minion has already clocked 4.1 second times in flyball despite looking like he isn't trying very hard at all! He has already gained his BFA Flyball Dog Advanced Award which is 5,000 points and also has his UKFL Cadet Advanced Award of 1000 points and has helped his team gain multiple BFA and UKFL Championship wins. Although he doesn't run anywhere near to his potential as flyball doesn't float his boat he is not slow and runs as a consistent member of the team. If ever flyball does click for him then he would show exciting times on the clock!
He has only managed a handful of shows and is just a clear round away from moving up the levels at UKA. He certainly enjoys his agility and this seems to be the sport for him and I am looking forward to competing with him when shows are back on. Despite being a lurcher Minion still measures into Standard height.
Minion absolutely loves to learn and please and has been putting these skills to good use as a trick dog. He has now gained his Novice, Novice Masters, Intermediate Masters, Advanced, Expert Trick Titles and has now become a Trick Dog Champion. He is now starting work on his Grand Champion Title. His favourite game is to fetch and it doesn't matter what it is, remote, phone, bottle, tissue... whatever you need, Minion will fetch it! Minion has now been awarded the Trick Dog Register of Merit (TD-ROM) for producing outstanding offspring in the sport of tricks
