Last week he received a Silver Cup for being the  West of England Border Collie of the Year (2011) in Heelwork to Music!!!

At the UKA Easter show he came 1st in beginners jumping, 1st in Novice Steeplechase 1, and 2nd in Novice Steeplechase 2 so he has now gone up a grade to Senior in Steeplechase, all in less than a year of competitions!

Jazz has just received some incredible news ... he has been awarded the Paws n Music Starter Dog of the Year Award and this may well be presented at Crufts too!! Well done Jazz!!

Results For 2011
July UKA 2nd Steeplechase – now in Novice
August Club Snakes & Ladders Evening 2nd
August 2011 at Paws n Music Stoneleigh. 1st in Starters Heelwork to music, so he’s now in Novice. 3rd Starters Freestyle. 3rd Dances with Dogs
September Chatsworth Country Fair 3rd Power & Speed
September UKA 3rd Jumping
October Gatcombe Country Fair 1st Starters Jumping and qualified for Arden Grange Starter dog of the year – the final is August 2012.
November Andover Paws N Music 6th Starters Freestyle, 8th Dances with Dogs.
December UKA Grand Final of Circular Knockout got to semi-final round and was knocked out by Shaun and Phix the eventual winners and part of the UKA International Team!

What an amazing year we have had. In November I decided that we would take a break from training for Heelwork to Music for a year, and concentrate on Agility as Jazz clearly enjoys it much more. This dog has brought me so much happiness and made me lots of new friends for which I am so grateful.

Recent competition results.
- He was 2nd in HTM and 4th in Freestyle at the Westglen show in June.
- He was 6th in Jumping at his first KC show at Caerphilly and got a clear in the Collie Dash but it was a Grade1-4 combined class so he didn't get placed.
- He was 2nd In Steeplechase at UKA at Cheltenham in July so has moved up to Novice.
- He has qualified for the UKA Grand Final Circular Knockout which will be held in December. (16 dogs in the final or all grades)

Wow Jazz really is an Agility dog. Three weeks ago he won the Club competition where I  go, it was a Steeplechase and he did two rounds coming 1st and 2nd then in the  jump off he won, which was amazing. We were against dogs that have been training/competing for some years.
Last weekend I took him to his first 'proper' show  UKA, and he came 5th in Steeplechase Maxi beginners and third in 'Time, fault  and out'.

Last week at Paws n Music Rugby he came second in starters Freestyle and second in Dances with Dogs, which was amazing. This weekend he went to his first real agility show and out of 38 dogs in the 1-3 grade section he came an amazing 5th. Clearly he has talents in the agility world. They also had a fun section a the show and he was 5th in Most Handsome dog and 4th in Best Trick.

I have now had Jazz for two years and he is such a wonderful dog. He is very sociable and just loves playing with my young Grandchildren. His agility background regularly comes into play when he is in the garden with the family when he can be seen running UP the slide and jumping down the steps, then jumping through the swing! This should have made me realise that this is where his true potential would be found and today was his first Agility show where he wowed the other spectators. We didn't win (due to handler error!!) but what fun we both had; so much that we have decided to try and join a nearby Agility Club. I hope Jazz will follow in Snoopy's pawsteps and do well in this area. Everywhere we go I get comments on how handsome Jazz is. He sleeps on the floor by my bed every night and wakes me with a kiss in the morning - which is just wonderful.
